Fruit Crunch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    3/4 c. rolled oats
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. plus 1/2 c. sugar
    5 Tbsp. cornstarch
    10 c. tart cherries or substitute 3 cans cherry pie filling or any other fruit (do not cook on stove)
    1 c. cherry juice (from frozen cherries)
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put mixture of the first four ingredients into 2 separate bowls.
    In the bowl that will be the mixture for the top, put 1 extra teaspoon of shortening for the top of the cake.
    Mix second bowl until crumbly.
    Press mixture into 13 x 9-inch greased pan.
