Bran Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. boiling water
2 c. Bran Buds cereal
1 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 qt. buttermilk
5 c. flour
5 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
4 c. bran flakes
raisins (optional)
Preparation

Pour boiling water over Bran Buds and let cool.
Cream shortening and sugar, then add eggs, one at a time.
Sift together the flour, soda and salt.
Add these dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk.
Add cooled Bran Buds and fold in bran flakes and raisins.
Bake 15 minutes at 375\u00b0.
Makes 6 dozen.
The batter keeps 2 weeks in refrigerator.
