Verna'S Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium size head lettuce (cut in bite size)
    3/4 c. chopped celery
    1/2 diced green pepper
    1 onion, sliced thin
    1 (10 oz.) frozen peas
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar (sprinkle on mayonnaise)
    1 (4 oz.) pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese
    8 slices bacon (crisp and crumbled on top)
Preparation
    Layer lettuce, celery, green pepper, onion and grease in 9 x 13-inch dish.
    Spread mayonnaise on top, sprinkle sugar over mayonnaise.
    Sprinkle bacon over top.
    Wrap in foil and refrigerate overnight.
