Beet Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can sliced beets
    1/4 c. red wine vinegar
    2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. Dijon mustard
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/2 bay leaf
    1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
    1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
Preparation
    Drain beets reserving liquid in saucepan.
    Add vinegar, sugar, mustard, garlic and bay leaf.
    Bring to boil.
    Remove from heat. Place beets, onion and parsley in non-metallic container.
    Pour hot liquid over mixture.
    Cover and chill.
