Mrs. Gilpin'S Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. butter
    3 c. flour
    whites of 8 eggs
    2 c. nuts, candied cherries, citron, pineapple, orange and lemon peel
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 lb. raisins (I omit raisins and use more dates and figs)
    1 lb. dates
    1 lb. figs
Preparation
    Dredge fruit in 1 cup of flour.
    Add 1 cup wine or whiskey. Bake in slow oven.
