Fruit Compote - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (20 oz.) cans pineapple chunks
    2 small cans mandarin oranges
    1 (20 oz.) can sliced peaches
    1 (20 oz.) can sliced pears
    1 large jar maraschino cherries (or 1 c. strawberries)
    1 large pkg. vanilla pudding (not instant)
    3 or 4 bananas (add just before serving)
Preparation
    Drain fruit well.
    Retain 2 cups juice from oranges and pineapple.
    Make pudding using juice instead of milk.
    Pour over fruit while hot.
    Refrigerate.
    Will keep 7 to 10 days.
