Grandma Jeffrey'S Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. applesauce
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. each: nutmeg, cloves, salt
1 c. raisins

Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Combine sugar and Crisco.
Hold. Heat applesauce and add baking soda.
It will fizz up.
Immediately add to sugar and Crisco mixture.
Blend well with mixer.
Add flour and then the rest of the ingredients.
Raisins added last. Place in a 350\u00b0 oven and bake for 1 hour.
Use regular loaf pan. You can easily double this recipe.
