Crunchy Fried Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 firm green tomatoes
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. dry bread crumbs
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    Slice tomatoes.
    Dip slices into egg and then crumbs.
    Melt butter in large skillet.
    Add tomato slices.
    Cook, turning once, until golden brown.
    Season to taste.
    Makes 4 servings.
