Make And Eat Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 qt. sliced cucumbers
    1 c. salt
    6 medium onions, sliced
    1 1/2 qt. vinegar
    6 c. sugar or less
    2 Tbsp. pickling spices, tied in a cloth
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Put cucumbers, onions and salt in pan; cover with water and ice.
    Let stand for 3 hours, then drain.
    Bring vinegar, sugar, spices and celery seed to a boil.
    Add cucumbers and onions to liquid mixture.
    Do not let them boil.
    When transparent, pack into jars and seal.
    Can be eaten the next day.
    Make sure jars are hot when adding cucumbers into them.
