Tomato Catsup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    tomatoes, cut in chunks (without peeling)
    1 c. onions
    7 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. salt
    1 1/2 qt. vinegar
    1 tsp. red pepper or ginger
Preparation
    Cook the tomatoes with the onions.
    Run through sieve.
    Use 8 quarts tomatoes.
    Add the remaining ingredients.
    Boil down until thick.
    Leave in kettle until cold.
    Put into bottles; will not have to be sealed.
