Jacksonville Crisps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening (part butter)
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. broken nuts
    1 c. quick cooking oats
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. cornflakes
Preparation
    Work shortening until fluffy.
    Gradually add sugar; add beaten egg, then stir in flour, baking powder and salt sifted together. Add other ingredients and mix well.
    Drop on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
