Ingredients

3 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. vanilla wafers, crushed
1/2 c. pecans, finely chopped
1 qt. strawberry ice cream, softened
12 fresh, whole strawberries
Preparation

In a small bowl, beat egg whites until stiff.
Beat in half of the sugar, then all of the vanilla.
In another bowl, blend together the crushed wafers and the other half cup of sugar, mixed with chopped nuts.
Fold wafer mixture into first mixture.
Press into greased and floured 9-inch pie pan.
Bake in 325\u00b0 oven for 25 minutes.
Let cool.
Spread strawberry ice cream evenly in crust. Top with whole strawberries.
Freeze until solid.
