Citrus Shortbread Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
    1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. each minced lemon and orange zest
    2 tsp. orange-flavored liqueur
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Preheat the oven to 325\u00b0. Place the butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Scrape down sides of the bowl. Beat on high for 3 minutes, until butter is light but not fluffy. Add the zests and liqueur. Beat on high for 30 seconds. Gradually, using low speed, add the flour and salt; mix for 1 minute. Use a rubber spatula to finish mixing the dough.
