Stuffed Cabbage - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground pork
1/2 lb. ground beef
2 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. paprika
1 tsp. black pepper
3/4 lb. rice, washed
1 large onion, minced
3 Tbsp. shortening
1 large head cabbage
1 small can sauerkraut
1 (No. 2) can tomato juice
1/2 pt. sour cream
Preparation

Core cabbage.
Place in salted, boiling water to cover.
Cut off leaves as they become wilted.
Drain.
Trim thick center vein of each leaf.
Brown onion in Crisco.
Add meat, seasonings and rice and mix well.
Place tablespoon of filling on each cabbage leaf and roll.
Place in pot and cover 2/3 full with water.
Add sauerkraut and tomato juice on top.
Cover and cook slowly 1 1/2 hours until rice is done.
Pour sour cream on top and cook 5 minutes more.
Serves 6 to 8 people.
