Brown Beef In Beer - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. beef chuck, cut in cubes
    8 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 c. chopped parsley
    1 bay leaf, crushed
    1 tsp. sugar
    salt and pepper
    2 c. or more beer
    4 to 6 onions
    1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. thyme
    2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
Preparation
    Dredge meat with flour and brown in 4 tablespoons butter; add parsley, thyme, bay leaf, salt, pepper, vinegar and beer to cover. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour adding more beer if necessary.
    Saute sliced onions in 4 tablespoons butter; add sugar and cook until onions are slightly glazed.
    Add the onions to beef and cook 15 minutes more or until meat is tender.
