Watergate Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1/4 c. chopped maraschino cherries
    1 c. mini marshmallows
    1/2 c. pecans
    1/2 c. chopped dates (optional)
    1 box instant pistachio pudding mix
    1 (8 oz.) carton Cool Whip
Preparation
    Mix pineapple, marshmallows, cherries, pecans and dates. Sprinkle pudding mix on top.
    (Do not add liquids; use the dry pudding mix).
    Add Cool Whip and stir everything together.
