Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    4 large eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking ???
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix together sugar and shortening; cream.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Combine dry ingredients.
    Add flour and milk alternately. Add vanilla and mix well.
    Bake in a greased and floured tube pan for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 325\u00b0.
    Bake until real brown.
    Let cool and invert pan.
