Ingredients

4 Tbsp. buttermilk
3 tsp. soda
1 lb. chopped dates
1 lb. candied pineapple
1 1/2 lb. white raisins
6 c. chopped nuts
3 c. flour, divided
1/2 c. margarine, softened
1 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

In a small bowl, combine buttermilk and soda; set aside. Using a sharp knife, slice dates, pineapple and raisins into tiny pieces.
Place chopped fruits and nuts in large mixing bowl. Dredge with 1 cup of the flour; set aside.
