Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine, softened
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice or cloves
1 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 c. fig preserves with juice, chopped
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. coconut (optional)
1 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation

Cream margarine and sugar until light; add eggs, beating after each.
Stir in vanilla.
Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Bake in a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan for 50 minutes at 350\u00b0.
