Ingredients

3/4 c. butter
3 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. butter or oleo
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
4 1/2 c. unbleached flour (sift 1 time, measure, then sift 2 more times)
3 c. dried apples that have been stewed
1 1/2 tsp. soda (put in apples)
1/2 box white raisins
1 1/2 c. pecans
1 1/2 tsp. each: mace, cloves and cinnamon
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Add 4 cups of flour alternately with stewed apples.
Dredge raisins and nuts with remaining 1/2 cup flour.
Add spices.
Fold in cherries and pineapple.
Add raisins and nuts last.
Line greased tube pan with wax paper.
Bake 2 hours at 250\u00b0.
Makes 2 large cakes.
Halve recipe for one.
Freezes nicely.
