Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 green peppers
    12 red peppers
    12 medium onions
    12 green tomatoes
    5 c. vinegar
    1 c. water
    3 Tbsp. salt
    6 c. sugar
    hot peppers to taste
Preparation
    Chop green peppers, red peppers, onions and green tomatoes. Place all chopped peppers, onions and tomatoes in pot and mix. Pour boiling water over mixture to cover.
    Let stand 5 minutes. Drain.
    Pour boiling water over mixture again and let stand 10 minutes.
    Drain and press all water out.
    Mix liquid mixture preceding until boiling.
    Add chopped ingredients to liquid and cook 30 minutes.
    Put in jars and seal.
    Makes 16 pints.
