Upside-Down Bacon Corn Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. yellow corn meal
    1 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, well beaten
    3 Tbsp. melted fat
    12 strips bacon, cut in half crosswise
Preparation
    Mix and sift dry ingredients.
    Mix egg and milk and add.
    Stir in fat.
    Pour boiling water over the bacon; drain and dry. Arrange bacon strips in bottoms of 2 (8-inch) round cake pans. Pour half the batter into each.
    Bake in a hot oven (425\u00b0) for about 25 minutes.
