Sweet Sour Cabbage - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium head cabbage, quartered or cut in coarse shreds
salt to taste
2 Tbsp. oil
1 medium onion, sliced
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. vinegar
pepper
Preparation

Cook cabbage in a small amount of salted water until crisp-tender.
Switch off heat.
Do not drain.
In a small saute pan, saute onion in oil until lightly brown.
Add brown sugar, vinegar and about 1/2 cup of the cooking juice from the cabbage. Taste the sauce and add salt and pepper or more brown sugar or vinegar, according to how much sweetness or tartness you like. Drain the cabbage and pour sauce over the cabbage, making sure all the surface is coated with the sauce.
Serve immediately.
