Pecan Delights - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 c. broken nuts

Preparation

Let shortening and sugar soften in a bowl at room temperature, then mix with mixer, adding all other ingredients, except nuts. Stir in nuts with a spoon.
Drop in amounts of about 1 teaspoon on baking sheet.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1/2 hour (just until edges begin to turn brown).
Remove from baking sheet while hot and place on paper towels.
Let cool.
It is important to put cookies on paper towel.
Makes 60 to 75 cookies.
These cookies freeze well.
