Vanilla Cream Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. water
    2 egg yolks
    2 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 c. whipping cream
Preparation
    In a 1-quart saucepan, boil sugar and water to 238\u00b0, or until a little forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water.
    Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
    Pour syrup slowly on egg yolks while beating.
    Continue beating until creamy.
    Chill.
    Add vanilla.
    Whip cream and fold in.
    Makes 8 servings.
