Mom'S Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 2/3 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. soft shortening
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    pineapple slices, drained (reserve 1 Tbsp. liquid)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar together.
    Add egg, vanilla and milk.
    Add dry ingredients.
    Melt butter in 9 x 13-inch pan. Combine and add pineapple liquid and brown sugar.
    Arrange pineapple slices.
    Add batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
