Cucumber-Vinegar Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium cucumbers
    1/4 medium onion, sliced thin
    1/2 c. white vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    2 to 3 Tbsp. sugar
    pepper to taste
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Peel cucumbers and slice thin.
    Add sliced onion.
    Stir together vinegar, water, sugar, salt and pepper.
    Pour over slices.
    Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours (7 to 10 hours is better).
    This is wonderful to serve with hamburgers at a backyard summertime picnic.
