Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter, softened
    1 lb. sugar (2 1/2 c.)
    1 lb. sifted flour (4 c.)
    9 eggs
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease tube pan.
    Cream the butter, adding sugar gradually.
    Beat until mixture is light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add flour; blend until thoroughly mixed.
    Add lemon juice and rind.
    Pour batter into prepared pan.
    Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Turn cake out onto cooling rack and cool to room temperature.
