4 c. sifted self-rising flour
additional flour
3/4 c. softened butter
1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease and lightly flour baking pans and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, place flour, leaving a depression in the center.
Place butter and buttermilk in the depression and start mixing by hand with flour.
Knead together, adding more milk and butter if dough is too stiff.
Dough should be moist.
Roll handful of dough into ball.
Flour outside and place in baking pan.
Pat down.
Repeat until all dough is used or until desired amount of biscuits are made.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Brush tops with melted butter.
