Ingredients

2 c. whole milk
2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. flour (more, if needed to thicken)
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. pure vanilla
1 Tbsp. butter
1 (9-inch) precooked pie crust
Preparation

In a medium-size saucepan, add milk, sugar, flour and egg yolks.
Beat until smooth.
Place over medium-high heat.
Keep stirring until it boils.
Turn down heat to medium.
Keep stirring until it thickens.
Remove from heat.
Add vanilla and butter. Stir until smooth.
Pour into precooked pie crust.
Let cool for 2 hours before cutting.
You can use the egg whites to make a meringue top.
