Date-Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. water
2 c. sugar
2 sticks oleo
1 small pkg. chopped dates
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cloves
3 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 c. pecans, chopped

Preparation

Heat water, sugar, oleo, dates, cinnamon and cloves until oleo melts; stir.
Cool.
Add flour and soda sifted together.
Mix well. Add nuts.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
Bake for 1 hour at 325\u00b0.
Makes 2 loaf pans.
