Pepper Steak And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sirloin steaks (about 1 lb. each)
    2 medium bell peppers, chopped
    1 c. chopped celery
    3 Tbsp. butter flavored Crisco
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch, dissolved in 1/2 c. water
    2 c. cooked rice
Preparation
    Sprinkle steak with meat tenderizer and let stand about 4 hours.
    About 30 minutes before serving, melt Crisco in a heavy skillet.
    Cut steak in 1/2-inch strips.
    Add to hot shortening. Put vegetables on top.
    Cover and cook until steak is done and vegetables are tender.
    Add soy sauce, cornstarch and water.
    Cook about 1 minute, until gravy is thick.
    Serve over hot rice with cole slaw and rolls.
    Makes a meal.
    Serves 4.
