Black Walnut Cream Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. sugar (6 c.)
    2 lb. white corn syrup (3 1/2 c.)
    1 1/2 pints sweet cream (whipping cream or whole milk)
    3 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 lb. black walnuts in shell (3 c. shelled)
Preparation
    Stir first 3 ingredients together in a large pan until mixed. Set on hot fire (medium heat) and stir constantly with a wooden spoon.
    Boil until it will form a medium soft ball in cold water. Remove from fire and stir until cool.
    Add nuts and vanilla and continue stirring until almost cold.
    Pour into a buttered pan. Makes 5 lb. fudge.
