Rubber Devils - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake Fleischmann's yeast
    1 pt. milk, scalded and cooled
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    6 or 7 c. flour (to make soft dough)
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast and 2 tablespoons sugar in lukewarm milk.
    Add 3 cups flour.
    Beat smooth and let rise.
    Cream shortening, rest of sugar and eggs.
    Add to yeast.
    Add salt and rest of flour to make soft dough.
    Let rise.
