Zucchini Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. zucchini (1/4-inch slices)
    6 onions, sliced
    2 green peppers
    1/2 c. coarse salt
    5 c. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Put zucchini, onions and peppers in a large container and sprinkle with 1/2 cup coarse salt.
    Cover with 4 trays of ice cubes and let stand 3 to 4 hours.
