Date-Nut Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 eggs
1 c. powdered sugar
1 Tbsp. shortening, melted
1/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sifted plain flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Beat eggs until light.
Add sugar and shortening.
Sift flour, salt and baking powder together and add.
Add dates, nuts and vanilla.
Blend together well; pour into greased shallow cake pan. Bake for 25 minutes at 325\u00b0.
Cut into bars; roll in powdered sugar.
