Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 stick margarine
2 1/2 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 c. sweet milk
1 1/2 Tbsp. coconut flavoring
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
3 c. cake flour
1 c. coconut, freshly grated or packaged
Preparation

Have ingredients at room temperature.
Cream shortening, margarine and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time; beat well.
Add milk with flavoring added.
Sift together dry ingredients and add to mixture.
Beat well.
Fold in coconut.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours in a 10-inch tube pan which has been greased and floured.
