Irish Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour (can use half each regular and cake)
    1 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Cream together very well the butter and sugar for 5 minutes. Should resemble whipped cream. Add flour and salt.
    Dough should work up into a ball, cleaning the sides of the bowl. Press out on nonstick cookie sheet to 1/4 to 1/2-inch thick. Run knife completely through dough as if to cut it in squares.
    Pick, if desired, and sprinkle sugar, if desired.
    Bake for 30 minutes at 300\u00b0.
    Cool, then cut following lines made before.
