Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1 stick butter or margarine
    3 to 4 lb. sweet potatoes
    3 Tbsp. vanilla flavor
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    4 Tbsp. nutmeg
    1/4 c. Aunt Jemima syrup
    5 c. sugar
    1/2 gal. water
Preparation
    Peel and
    rinse
    the potatoes;
    slice crossways, 1-inch thick. Place in the 1/2 gallon of water.
    Bring to a boil and let boil for 10
    minutes.
    Remove
    the potatoes and place in a roasting pan.
    Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, flavor, sugar, syrup, butter and salt.
    Cover with
    2 to 3 cups of water and cook in moderate oven at 325\u00b0 for 30 to 45 minutes.
    Serves 10 to 12.
