7-Day Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. medium sized cucumbers
    water to cover
    1 qt. vinegar
    8 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickle spices
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and cover with boiling water.
    Let stand 24 hours and
    drain.
    Repeat
    each day for 4 days, using fresh water each time.\tOn
    5th day cut cucumbers in 1/4 inch rings. Combine vinegar, sugar, salt and spices.
    Bring liquid to boil and pour over
    sliced
    cucumbers.
    Let stand 24 hours.
    Drain syrup and bring to a\tboil.
    Pour
    over
    cucumbers.
    Repeat on sixth day. On the last
    day;
    drain
    off
    syrup
    and bring to boiling point. Pack into hot
    jars
    and seal.
    These are very crisp and delicious pickles.
