Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. hamburger
    2 to 3 large onions, diced
    2 lb. carrots, sliced
    2 stalks celery, diced
    2 green peppers, diced
    4 large cans tomatoes
    1 (13 oz.) can tomato paste
    4 tsp. sweet basil
    2 Tbsp. dill weed
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    2 tsp. pepper
    1 c. beef base
    2 c. macaroni
    1 1/2 gal. water
Preparation
    Brown hamburger; add onions and cook a few minutes.
    Add 1/2 cup flour to soak up fat.
    Add remaining ingredients, except macaroni and simmer 1/2 hour.
    Cook macaroni separately and add just before serving.
    Small amount of red wine may also be added for flavor.
