Beef Noodle Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. medium noodles
4 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped green pepper
1 c. chopped celery
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 (1 lb. 12 oz.) cans tomatoes (undrained)
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 (6 oz.) can chopped mushrooms, drained
8 oz. sharp process American cheese, shredded (2 c.)
1 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
1 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Cook the noodles in a large amount of boiling, salted water and drain.
In Dutch oven, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, green pepper, celery and garlic.
Cook until meat is lightly browned.
Stir in tomatoes, sauce, mushrooms,, cheese, thyme, basil, salt and pepper.
Heat and stir until cheese melts.
Spread noodles in two 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dishes.
Pour tomato mixture over; stir into noodles.
Cover loosely with foil.
Bake 45 minutes.
Uncover; stir lightly.
Bake 25 minutes.
Sprinkle with 8 ounces of sharp process American cheese.
Bake 5 minutes.
Makes 25 (about 1-cup) servings.
