Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    2 c. granulated sugar
    5 eggs, separated
    2 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla (Tony used butternut vanilla flavor)
    1 c. flaked coconut
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
    juice from jar of maraschino cherries (about 1/2 c.)
Preparation
    Cream margarine with shortening. Add sugar and beat until smooth. Add egg yolks, one at a time, as you beat the creamed mixture.
