Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter
1 3/4 c. milk
2 eggs, separated
4 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. brown sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 baked pie shell
2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
Preparation

Brown butter; add milk and egg yolks.
Combine cornstarch, sugar and salt; add to milk mixture.
Cook until thickened; cool slightly.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Beat egg whites until stiff; beat in granulated sugar.
Pile meringue lightly on pie. Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven until meringue is lightly browned.
