Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or lard
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 c. dark molasses
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar; stir in ginger, cinnamon and salt.
    Add egg.
    Beat until well blended. Stir in molasses and buttermilk.
    Sift together flour and soda. Combine with batter, beating just until flour is incorporated. Pour into a greased 10-inch iron skillet.
    Bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until done.
