Grandma'S Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

1 unbaked deep dish 9-inch pie shell
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. dark corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. pecan halves
Preparation

Cream margarine with extract.
Add sugar gradually, creaming well.
Add beaten eggs in thirds, beating well after each addition.
Thoroughly blend in chopped pecans, along with salt and syrup.
Turn into unbaked pie shell.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350\u00b0.
Arrange pecan halves on top.
Continue baking for 30 to 35 minutes.
