Buttermilk Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    4 c. chopped apples
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. nuts
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream together the first 3 ingredients; add eggs and beat well. Sift flour, soda, baking powder and salt together.
    Add alternately with buttermilk.
    Fold in apples.
    Pour into oblong pan.
    Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar, nuts and cinnamon over top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
