Kossuth Kiflie - Half Moon Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    6 eggs, separated
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. ReaLemon lemon juice
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. lemon extract
Preparation
    In a
    small
    bowl,
    beat egg whites.
    Add 1/2 cup sugar and cream of tartar; set aside.
    In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar.
    Add
    egg yolks (2 at a time); beat well until good and creamy.
    Add
    lemon juice, vanilla and lemon extract.
    Mix baking powder
    with
    flour
    and
    add
    to mixture at low speed. Fold in egg
    white.
    Pour into greased and floured pan, 9 x 12 x 2-inches. Mix
    1/2
    cup
    chopped
    nuts
    and\t1/4 cup sugar; sprinkle on top.
