Cherry Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    4 eggs
    1 c. milk
    3 3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. maraschino cherries, cut up
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Cream the sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.
    Then add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition and very well after the fourth one.
    Add remaining ingredients and fold in the cherries and walnuts.
    Pour into a prepared tube cake pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
