Cornmeal Pan-Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

flour
1 egg, beaten with a little milk
yellow cornmeal
1 green tomato, cut into 1/4-inch slices
oil for frying
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Spread the flour on wax paper.
Put egg wash in shallow dish. Spread the cornmeal on wax paper; dredge the tomato slices in the flour and shake off excess, then dip into egg wash.
Coat with cornmeal, shake off excess.
Heat oil in large heavy skillet over medium flame.
When hot, add tomatoes.
Cook until golden brown; then turn.
Repeat, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Serve.
